Silver Clay Workshop

Get your friends together and host a jewelry making workshop in your home or business. 

This workshop is for anyone who wants: 

  • to a have a fun night out with friends
  • to get hands-on experience working with silver clay
  • to make some really cool silver jewelry


$60 per person includes: 

  • A 3.5 hour workshop covers what metal clay is, the different forms it comes in and how to best care for, work with and store it. A basic overview of tools and equipment. You will be shown best practices for working with the clay, including rolling, texturing & stamping, cutting, layering and drilling. Once you create your unique pieces, you will be shown how to sand and refine them. 

  • You will purchase your own silver clay and use it to make to 2 or 3 finished pieces. We recommend 10 grams of silver clay per person which is $22.50.
  • Findings are also for sale as needed; ear wires, jump rings, chain and cord at student pricing. 

Unfired pieces will be taken for firing and finishing and will be returned to the host in 1-2 weeks.  

Minimum 5 people. Maximum number of people is 8.

NEW!!! Hometown Stamps. I am currently making stamps specific to many of the surrounding towns. Stamps include town names, coordinates and zip codes. Currently I have stamps like the ones shown for Shrewsbury, Northboro, Westboro, Southborough, Grafton, Marlboro, Worcester,  Boylston & Sudbury. Custom stamps can be ordered for your group. 

 

Taught by Julie Booras: 
Julie Booras, the owner of Heart and Stone, has a degree in Fine Arts from the George Washington University where she studied photography and design. Julie has been working in metal clay and jewelry design since 2007. Julie's work has been featured in national magazines including, People, Pregnancy & Newborn and Kiwi as well as on New England's ABC's Chronicle.
